Monday January 5

Walt spent a lot of time preparing for the first Wednesday Bible Class on the Old Testament and Skyped with Jon Bloomquist about the various details of the trip. Although there is a work day-day off schedule, we all know in the work of the kingdom it is really a mix of the two. We work while it is day for the night cometh when no man can work.

I called Milton. Paulus wasn't available so he tried speaking in English and I in Spanish!! We are still trying to get the details of this coming weekend trip to Chiquicha and Salinas de Guaranda in place. The when, where, and how much are sometimes elusive.

Planning the trip with the Finland minister inclusive of the local Bible Camp in Guayaquil is also a work in progress. Lots of details.

Miguel Santana called just to say hello, which was heart warming.

Veronica Ayala is living with us for the duration. !Es bueno! She has a job in the city each day. She helps with shopping, cooking, and getting us to our daily destinations. She is our good friend already and she has shared life's joys and sorrows with us. She is a gift for us.

She feels it is a blessing to live with us as well. She is eager to help with the work of the kingdom also. She is translating a short story about being single from a West Coast Singles Camp. She said it is stressful because it is so close to her own situation. Yet it is meaningful to her heart and she likes the story. Being a believer and single can be stressful. Number wise, the support group of other singles is small here in Ecuador.

She also made readied the Quito Bible Class Schedule for printing. Later she will work on translating some PowerPoint slide captions into Spanish.

Veronica Ayala and Avis. She lived with us for our entire time in Quito.
