To Riobamba by Bus

We headed to Riobamba to start the weekend rotation of services in Salinas, Riobamba, and Ambato. Veronica Ayala took time out of work to accompany us to the bus station Quitumbe to ensure our safety. We left our apartment at about 12 noon and left the bus station at 1pm, arriving in Riobamba at 5pm.

A familiar place, the Quito bus station.

The distance is only about 90 miles but the roads have many curves, hills, and valleys. We weren't many miles south of Quito when the scenery turned to lush green farming county. The valleys are broad and the elevation changes great. The scenery is fantastic as anyone who has been here can verify.

We are staying at the Montecarlo Hotel in downtown Riobamba for the night. Not sure about tomorrow night or Saturday.

We took a cab from the bus station to the hotel Monte Carlo. A short time later Milton and Elisia Martinez picked us up. We picked up some chicken and rice to eat at their house and later discussed the details of our mission trip and the January trip by Antti Paananen. Milton, Paulus Mikkola, and Walt will continue the meeting tomorrow.
